We provide the tailored guidance and support needed to help people solve personal, marriage, family, and career problems. We believe the Bible provides the foundation and framework for such solutions. We utilize the theories and methods of the social sciences only when they conform to the absolute truth of the Bible. We provide structured educational and accountability relationships that enrich personal, marriage, and family life.
We are properly licensed and/or certified mental health and pastoral therapists. We obey the legal and professional ethics codes governing our respective professions. Each of us is a clinical and/or certified member in good standing of one of the following professional organizations: The American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), the North American Association of Christian Social Workers (NACSW) and the American Association for Christian Counseling (AACC).
A counselor’s character is just as important as his/her academic and professional credentials. Clients want counselors who are trustworthy and reliable–faithful persons with moral fiber and secure boundaries. We believe these are reasonable expectations, and we are committed to meeting them. We are long-time residents of the greater Indianapolis community, and plan to continue living and working here. Those who refer to us know us well. We are available to them, and we listen to their critique and recommendations. Most important, our clients know we are safe people because we adhere to biblical ethics, respect boundaries, and work hard to maintain our own healthy marriages and families. We strive to live the same way we urge others to live.
We are committed, tithing Christians who teach and lead in our local church. Dr. Craig attends Traders Point Christian Church, has served on the ministry staff there, teaches adult education courses, participates in short-term mission trips (to Haiti and Guatemala), and played regularly in the worship band. Mr. Ober, Mrs. Castle, and Mrs. Parker also attend Traders Point Christian Church and are active in its teaching, youth, leadership, and recovery ministries.
We serve people regardless of racial, ethnic, or religious background. Even those who disagree with our religious, moral, and ethical principles find us welcoming, respectful, and helpful. While some therapists focus on individual and group differences that are essentially superficial and temporal, we recognize variations that are substantive and eternal. We believe true diversity demands the willingness to share substantially divergent ideas in a context of mutual respect and thoughtful consideration, always keeping the client’s ultimate good in mind.
We strive to protect the privacy of our clients. We have selected our office locations and designed our scheduling procedure with discretion and security in mind. Confidentiality is both an ethical and legal mandate. We obey the state and federal laws governing the definition and limits of confidentiality.
